A technical team from the Centre would examine four to five land parcels in Bhadradri Kotahgudem in Telangana on September 7, 2026, to check if they are suitable for setting up an airport there. This comes after lands in two locations in the district were found unviable due to technical reasons.

The Central team will check geographical, climate conditions and technical feasibility needed for setting up airports at the five land parcels.

Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu informed the State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao of the proposed visit, when the latter met with the former in New Delhi on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), as per a press release.

The Union Minister assured to take further steps for setting up the transportation infrastructure if the report of the team is favourable, said Mr. Rao. He said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy may discuss the proposals for airports in Mamnoor (Warangal) and Adilabad on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).
