Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is set to chair a Regional Conference on Electoral Literacy Clubs and ECINET and hold an interactive session with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai on Thursday.

According to an official release from Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik, under the theme ‘Learn Democracy, Lead Democracy’, the initiative aims to strengthen voter outreach, foster constitutional literacy among future voters and harness digital platforms for electoral operations.

A high-level ECI delegation will participate in the day-long event. Deputy Election Commissioner Bhanu Prakash Yeturu, Director General (Media) Ashish Goyal and Director General (IT) Seema Khanna will take part in the meeting along with the Chief Election Commissioner.

The conference will host nearly 1,000 delegates comprising students, educators and heads of institutions representing 300 schools, 75 colleges and 25 universities across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Mr. Kumar will take part in an interactive session with nearly 500 BLOs to review grassroots voter engagement, ground-level roll verification and operational feedback. He will also address students and educators on democratic participation and electoral literacy, the release added.
