Three persons were injured after a Mahindra XEV 9S crashed into the rear of a lorry carrying steel rods, triggering a multi-vehicle collision on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in the early hours of Sunday (October 4, 2026).

The accident occurred around 4 a.m. when the lorry was travelling from the ORR towards Gachibowli X-Roads, according to the police.

The driver of the XEV 9S sustained injuries in the collision and was immediately shifted to a hospital. Three other cars were caught in the crash and sustained damage, while two more persons were injured and taken to hospital.

The police said that two of the three injured persons were in a critical condition. The injured were shifted by ORR personnel to a private hospital in Hitec City.

The impact of the collision was severe enough to send one of the cars into the adjacent lane, where it landed on moving vehicles . Three cars subsequently collided one after another, leaving two of them badly damaged.

The police said a total of four cars and the lorry were involved in the accident. Further details on the identities and condition of the injured were awaited.
