Bus carrying TVK supporters to Coonoor falls 30-feet, 21 injured

A bus carrying 21 people who had travelled to Coonoor to extend their support for the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate who was filing his nomination in Coonoor fell more than 30-feet off a cliff near Karumbalam in Coonoor on Saturday evening.

According to police, the bus had travelled to The Nilgiris from Namakkal, carrying supporters of the TVK candidate C. Thangaraj, who filed his nomination in Coonoor. After lunch, the bus was headed back to Namakkal when the incident occurred. Police said that the bus lost control and fell more than 30-feet. In the incident, all 21 persons on board the bus suffered injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Police said that they were investigating the cause of the accident.
