Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar addressing a press meet in Mahabubnagar on Saturday

Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said Telangana will not forgive the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for comparing its statehood struggle to the partition of the country, and also trying to undermine the State’s political existence itself with a ‘ridiculous’ delimitation process.

Addressing a press conference in Mahbubnagar, he said Telangana society now sees BJP leaders as ‘Betrayers of Telangana’ for trying to justify BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s outbursts in the Parliament. Recalling the long struggle for Telangana statehood, he said the Congress achieved Telangana through constitutional means under Article 3, but the BJP was now trying to rewrite history, he said.
