Former minister and BJP MLC C.T. Ravi was elected unopposed as president of the Chikkamagaluru District Cooperative Central Bank on February 1.
Mr. Ravi submitted his nomination papers for the post earlier in the day. H.K. Dinesh Hosur submitted papers for the vice-president’s post. Both were elected unopposed. They took charge of the new responsibilities after they were declared elected.
Mr. Ravi thanked the 13 directors who supported his election to the post. The BJP leader said that the co-operative sector would be an opportunity to serve the public. “This is not the post to do politics, but to serve the people. We have a political party to do politics,” he said.
Mr. Ravi stated that he had been elected with the support of all 13 directors of the bank.
