IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, on Wednesday, said that BioAsia 2026 surpassed expectations, helped amplify Telangana’s progress and aspirations on the Life Sciences front and maintained its position as a premier event attracting global attention.

Speaking at the valedictory of the two-day event, the 23rd in the annual series, he said it has been the most successful edition to date, creating pathways to global partnerships, fostering innovation in AI, automation, cell and gene therapies, and advanced manufacturing.

“We received 4,394 registrations and visitors, including global delegates and speakers here, all exploring and forging transformative partnerships. This edition facilitated more than 4,000 high impact B2B meetings, unlocking new collaborations and interesting options,” the Minister said.

BioAsia 2026 featured several high-impact round tables that saw stakeholders in the Life Sciences industry discussing pressing challenges. Several foreign delegations, including those from New Zealand, South Korea, Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Denmark, the U.S., and Ireland participated.

Telangana is committed to building a future-ready ecosystem that translates scientific breakthroughs into practical healthcare solutions. The new, Next Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–30 is designed to ensure the State continues to attract global capital, talent and expertise while delivering solutions that improve patient outcomes worldwide, the organisers said.

The event also witnessed the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) launch the Telangana Hospital – Industry Innovation Bridge to create a hands-on learning environment. The BioAsia 2026 Innovation Awards were presented to five startups – Achala Health Services; Exquinz Life Sciences; Helex; Natural Solutions & Nutraceuticals, and Sree Guravey Life Sciences.

Achala Health Services is building a healthcare-focused Small Language Model (SLM) to optimise hospital workflows by automating discharge summaries, clinical documentation, claim codification, and contextual clinical search. Exquinz Life Sciences is integrating next-generation digital vaccine vial monitors with AI-enabled authentication and real-time tracking.

Helex is developing non-viral gene therapies for renal diseases, including a first-in-class genome editing therapeutic for Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). Natural Solutions & Nutraceuticals has developed a product that promises a triple-action herbal approach to respiratory viruses. Sree Guravey Life Sciences is into BioMap Markers for biopsy procedures were the other three startups that received awards.
