Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has criticised the Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samiti leaders for their attempts to mislead people on the spree of welfare schemes being implemented by the Congress Government.

“The BRS Government has destroyed the economy and damaged the administrative system put in place by the previous Congress Governments in their lure for power and money. BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao are trying to tarnish the image of our government, which is sparing no effort for empowerment of all sections, women and farmers in particular,” he said.

Addressing the public meeting at Madhira in Khammam district on Friday, he recalled how the previous government wasted ₹1.4 lakh crore public money in the name of Kaleshwaram, which suffered damages within three years. In sharp contrast, the irrigation projects constructed by the Congress Governments were functioning uninterruptedly decades after they were dedicated to the nation.

Elaborating on the welfare schemes, he said the Government was offering free bus travel to women, release of Rythu Bharosa in nine days and others were reflective of the Government’s firmness in fulfilling its assurances to different sections.

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the Government had purchased entire foodgrain produced by farmers, a first to the credit of Telangana in the country, though the Centre had not extended its cooperation. The Government had spent ₹1.67 lakh crore in just 30 months towards welfare of farmers in an unprecedented manner. He said work on the Sattupalli trunk canal was completed and water would be released to fields from August 15 bringing significant land under cultivation.

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that every farmer in the State will be issued a Bhoodar, a unique land identification record, along with a detailed land map within the next two years, describing it as a new land administration revolution under the Bhu Bharati initiative.

Speaking at the public meeting, the Minister said the government is undertaking comprehensive reforms to establish a transparent, error-free, and technology driven land records system. The initiative aims to provide farmers with authenticated land ownership records supported by digital mapping. Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari also spoke.
