Bharath assures to solve decade-old problems of Kurnool city

Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath said the government has prioritised resolving the decade-old problems concerning Kurnool city and to turn it into a smart city.

Mr. Bharath, along with Kurnool Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairman Somisetty Venkateswarlu, and Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanatha, laid foundation stones for ₹4.33 crore worth development works in the city on Tuesday. The works include laying of CC roads in Ameer Hyder Khan Colony, central median at Basava Circle, community toilet for women, CC road at Joharapuram, painting of road dividers and others.

The Minister said that they were taking steps to provide basic facilities in all the wards of the corporation. He added that Kurnool city had not witnessed any development during the previous government.

“We are giving priority to provide basic facilities in colonies on the outskirts of the city and to fulfil each and every promise made before the elections,” he said. Mr. Bharath said that they had made modifications to several rules and guidelines in the distribution of house ‘pattas’ to the poor, thereby, benefitting thousands of families. “Our aim is to give house site to every eligible beneficiary,” he said.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Viswanatha said that they were taking steps to develop Kurnool with the cooperation of Minister Bharath and MLAs Gouru Charitha Reddy and Boggula Dastagiri.
