It would be better if the party high command clarifies the confusion regarding party leadership in Karnataka, Minister and Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi said on Sunday (November 16, 2025).

He told reporters that his recent Delhi visit was not political. “I went to Delhi along with KPCC general secretary Sunil Hanumannavar and met party general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala as Mr. Hanumannavar was recently appointed the vice-president of NWKRTC [North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation],” he said.

Responding to reports that he could be appointed the next Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, he stated that the party high command would decide on the issue. “The State has a population of over six crore. It is natural that there are such discussions,'” he said.

In response to a query, he stated that the party was monitoring all developments within the Karnataka Congress. “They are observing the confusion about leadership in the State. I think it would be good if the top brass clarified this confusion,” he said .

“The expansion of the Cabinet is not in our hands. The high command takes decisions on such matters. They will also take a decision on the party leadership,” he added.

Regarding the deaths of deer at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Zoo in Bhutaramanhatti, the Minister stated that Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre had already ordered an investigation into the matter. The truth behind the deer deaths will be revealed once the investigation is completed, he added.

“There was a hope that we would win the Bihar elections. But our hope turned out to be false. However, there is still doubt about the EVMs. These doubts will continue till the end if there is no transparency. The ECI should clarify such doubts. But then, the Bihar election results will not affect Karnataka,” he said in response to a query.
