Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s latest Malayalam release, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, opened in theatres on Friday and witnessed a steady start at the Indian box office. The film, which has been receiving positive reactions from audience, recorded a decent opening on its first day, August 21, 2026.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit earned Rs 4.70 crore across 1,507 shows in India on Day 1. The opening indicates a promising start for the film, with audiences showing interest in the family entertainer. The film is yet to see the impact of the weekend, especially as several films across different genres, including Ravi Teja’s Irumudi, Vishawanath & Sons and others, are already running in theatres and competing with Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s film.
In terms of occupancy, the film recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 56.33%. The highest occupancy of 81.92% was recorded during the night shows, followed by 64.33% in the evening, 45.92% in the afternoon and 30% in the morning.

Nivin Pauly, known for films such as Premam and Action Hero Biju, was last seen in B Unnikrishnan’s Prathichaya. Whereas Mamitha Baiju is best known for her work in films like Dude, Premalu, was last seen in Vishwanath & Sons alongside Suriya. Notably, the film is already running in theatres and has been garnering attention from fans.
