The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has finalised three bidders for conducting studies on the “technical feasibility and commercial viability” of establishing battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the State. The KSEB director board has decided to empanel DNV MES India Pvt Ltd, Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP through an order dated September 23, 2025.

Financial bids will be invited from the three qualified bidders, the order said.

In March, the KSEB had approved a proposal for engaging a consultant agency to examine the viability of setting up BESS units of a combined capacity ranging between 3000 MWh to 5000 MWh BESS over the next three to five years.
