Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has directed the Hyderabad Traffic Police to trace an autorickshaw driver who was watching a movie on a mobile phone while driving and wearing headphones.

Mr. Sajjanar, in a post on X on Wednesday (October 14, 2026) shared a video showing two mobile phones positioned in front of the driver, with one displaying navigation directions and the other playing a movie. The driver was also seen wearing large, illuminated headphones.

The autorickshaw, bearing registration number TG15U2657, was brought to the commissioner’s notice through the video shared on social media. Mr. Sajjanar instructed the Hyderabad Traffic Police to identify the driver and initiate stringent legal action in accordance with the law.

Instructed @HYDTP to trace the auto (TG15U2657) driver and take stringent legal action as per the law.

Dial 112

The Commissioner urged passengers to remain alert during their journeys and speak up if they notice drivers using mobile phones or wearing headphones while driving. If drivers failed to heed their warnings, passengers should call the emergency helpline 112 and inform the police, he advised.
