Author and International Booker Prize-winner Banu Mushtaq visited the Hasanamba Temple in Hassan along with her family members on Wednesday. Ms. Mushtaq and her family members reached the Inspection Bungalow, from where the district administration took them to the temple in a special vehicle.

Speaking to presspersons, Ms. Mushtaq said that she had been visiting the temple since her childhood as she stayed close to it. As a child she would accompany her mother to the temple, the author said. “I have seen many Muslim people taking part in the festival. In my view, it is a centre of harmony, a symbol of friendship, love, and coexistence,” she added.
