The film follows the story of a spirited civil engineering student, Samkutty, who tries to revive his college fest ‘Arohan’, which was banned after a past stampede. Things go wrong when chief guest Vineeth Sreenivasan and surprise guest Shaan Rahman are kidnapped by Thotta Kuttan, a gangster-turned-musician, turning the event into chaos.

Released on May 14, Athiradi collected Rs 67.61 crore worldwide, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. It grossed Rs 42.96 crore in India and Rs 24.65 crore in overseas markets. Its net India collection stands at Rs 37.13 crore across 21,635 shows.
