The Hotel Owners’ Association of Mysuru has urged the hotel and bakery entrepreneurs in Mysuru to submit applications in the prescribed format to authorised oil marketing companies like IOCL, BPCL and HPCL for direct supply of commercial LPG cylinders.

In a statement here on Sunday, Association President C. Narayanagowda said the Government had introduced a new measure to address the shortage of LPG cylinders faced by hotel owners, bakery operators and sweet shop proprietors.

Many entrepreneurs were hitherto procuring cylinders through sub-dealers or salespersons. However, due to non-availability of cylinders with sub-dealers, many entrepreneurs have been compelled to purchase them from the black market at high prices. “To eliminate this issue, a system has now been put in place to enable direct procurement of cylinders through authorised dealers,” he said in a statement here.

The entrepreneurs should fill out an application in the format prescribed by the Government, submit it to the nearest authorised dealers of IOCL, BPCL or HPCL and deposit ₹2,400 per cylinder.

“Upon receiving the application, the dealers will inform the concerned LPG division head and arrange for direct supply of cylinders to the entrepreneurs,” said Mr. Narayangowda, while urging business owners facing cylinder shortage to make use of this opportunity and obtain cylinders through official channels.
