An Assistant Engineer at the 33/11 KV Gandhamguda Sub-Station, Himayat Sagar section in Rajendranagar circle was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on October 18, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000.

The accused official, identified as Amar Singh, demanded and accepted the amount from a complainant seeking official clearance to erect a new transformer at the ‘ARCK Projects’ apartment, a contract handled by the complainant.

The bribe was recovered from Mr. Singh’s possession at his office during a trap operation.

Mr. Singh was arrested and produced before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally.

Further investigation is under way.
