The fallout between Bigg Boss 13 contestants Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana has taken another turn. Days after Himanshi spoke about their relationship and differences in faith on Paras Chhabra’s podcast, Asim has made a fresh claim about their past.
Taking to X on Sunday, Asim alleged that Himanshi contacted him in March, around three months after their breakup, and wanted to give their relationship another chance. He also claimed that he has screenshots of their conversation and could share them if required.
Asim claims Himanshi contacted him after their breakup
In his post, Asim referred to Himanshi’s comments about their relationship and questioned why she had contacted him months after their separation. “Bad relationship-Thyroid, anxiety, depression, nose bleed, Face old, Smell from hair, face acne, So why did you msg me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship, don’t worry, I have the msg, screenshot, if needed I will post next time,” he wrote.
Asim’s latest post comes amid an ongoing public exchange between the former couple, with both speaking about different aspects of their relationship.
What Himanshi said about religion
Himanshi recently spoke about her relationship with Asim while appearing on Paras Chhabra’s podcast. She discussed the differences in their faith and said religion eventually became one of the factors behind their breakup. Himanshi clarified that she would not describe their conversations as a direct discussion about conversion. However, she said Asim would talk to her about his religion and wanted her to understand and accept it.
“Conversion nahi bolungi, par woh apne religion ki achhi baatein bata rahe the, sab bata rahe the. Achhi baat hai. Woh chahte the ki main achha samajhkar accept karu, lekin mujhe manzoor nahi tha (I wouldn’t call it conversion, but he was sharing the good aspects of his religion, explaining everything. That’s a good thing. He wanted me to accept it because I saw the merit in it, but I wasn’t willing to do so),” Himanshi said.
She also recalled the emotional impact of the situation and said she had begun feeling guilty about her faith and questioning what would happen to her after death.
Asim denies asking her to change religion
Following Himanshi’s comments, Asim shared a lengthy statement on Instagram, denying that he had ever asked anyone to change their religion. “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me, before that, everyone knew how you looked. So please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention,” he wrote.
Asim also addressed comments about their respective financial positions and rejected the suggestion that Himanshi had contributed to his career or financial success. “Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But, money was never the measure of character,” he added.
Asim takes aim at Paras Chhabra
Asim also criticised Paras Chhabra for discussing his past relationship with Himanshi on his podcast. He questioned the decision to revisit their personal lives years after their relationship ended. “Years later, digging through old relationship and personal life just to create more gossip says more about the person digging than the person being talked about,” he wrote.
He then made a personal remark about Paras while continuing to criticise his podcast discussions. “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym,” he added.
Himanshi responds amid the controversy
Amid the latest exchange, Himanshi appeared to keep her response low-key. She shared a photograph on her Instagram Stories and wrote, ‘Such a peaceful day.’ She also shared another Instagram Stories that read, ‘Kali doesn’t fit in temples. She lives in a woman who refuses to shrink, who burns, rebuilds and rises unapologetically.’ The post came as the former couple’s statements continued to draw attention online.
When did Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana break up?
Asim and Himanshi met during Bigg Boss 13 in 2019, where their relationship became a major talking point. She was in a relationship with Sandeep Singh before appearing in the reality show, although she later went on to break up with him. Then the Punjabi actress started dating Asim and their relationship survived even outside the TV show Bigg Boss 13. They called off their relationship on December 6, 2023, after almost four years of dating each other.
