The Department of Higher Education is working towards enhancing the skills of students in government engineering colleges by providing all facilities available in private educational institutions to government engineering colleges as well.
Major changes in the structure and academic system of government engineering colleges are expected in the coming days, said M.C. Sudhakar, Minister for Higher Education.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a world-class HP Artificial Intelligence and Gaming Lab, established at the Government Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute in Bengaluru, with funding from HP under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
As part of the skill development initiative, discussions with HP have led to the establishment of a world-class HP Artificial Intelligence and Gaming Lab. This lab supports efforts to guide students toward skill-based education.
“While Centres of Excellence are commonly seen in private institutions, government institutions have largely lacked such facilities. This lab marks the first step in bridging that gap. The goal is to create similar facilities in all government engineering colleges across the State. The department has already begun making progress in this direction,” the Minister stated.
