Arrested Navy sailor remanded to judicial custody

The intelligence officials produced arrested Navy sailor Pradeep Mukherjee in a court in Vijayawada on Monday (October 5, 2026). The Counter Intelligence (CI) officers, who had kept surveillance on the sailor’s activities, picked him up from Coimbatore. The accused allegedly leaked sensitive information about Visakhapatnam Naval Base and its operations to a Pakistani female intelligence operative through social media. The court granted judicial remand to the accused.
