Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth visited the Eastern Command on July 14-15 to review the security situation and assess the preparedness of formations deployed along the eastern frontier.

The Indian Army said that during his visit to the Trishakti Corps, General Seth was briefed by the General Officer Commanding on operational deployments, surveillance architecture, and the prevailing security dynamics in the sector.

The Army Chief also reviewed ongoing initiatives aimed at technology absorption, capability enhancement and force modernisation.

On July 15, the COAS visited Bengdubi Military Station, where he assessed regional security arrangements and reviewed operational logistics to ensure sustained readiness.

North East security

The Army Chief subsequently visited the Spear Corps and evaluated its operational preparedness amid the evolving security environment in the North East.

He was briefed on inter-agency coordination mechanisms and measures being undertaken to enhance combat readiness.

General Seth also reviewed community outreach programmes focused on promoting peace, stability, and development in the region.

Interacting with commanders and troops, General Seth outlined his vision of “VIJAY” — centred on Vigilance, Innovation, Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Yodha First.

He said these guiding principles would help the Indian Army remain agile, adaptive, and future-ready while contributing to the national goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The Army Chief commended all ranks for their professionalism, high morale, and operational excellence, and lauded their dedication while serving in challenging operational conditions.
