Three armed men barged into a jewellery shop and assaulted two youths before allegedly fleeing with gold ornaments and cash in broad daylight near Dasanapura bus stop, in the Madanayakanahalli police station limits, on Tuesday.

According to the police, the accused arrived at the shop on a two-wheeler around 5.30 p.m., threatened those present with a pistol, and attempted to rob the premises. A scuffle broke out with two youths, who are the sons of the shop owner, Manikram of Ramdev Jewellers. One of them sustained minor injuries while trying to resist the robbers.

The trio reportedly made away with over 30 gm of gold jewellery and ₹50,000 in cash before speeding away on the motorcycle.

The entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed inside the shop.

Confirming the incident, Bengaluru North-West Division DCP D.L. Nagesh said a case of robbery has been registered based on the complaint filed by the jeweller, and assured that efforts are on to trace and arrest the accused at the earliest.

“We have some clues on the accused and working on it to track them down,” Mr. Nagesh said.
