The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has urged educational institutions, organisations and the public to give priority to identifying talented children, particularly girls, children from weaker sections, SC/ST communities and children with special needs, for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP)-2026.

In a statement, APSCHE Chairman K. Madhu Murty said many deserving children often remain unnoticed as they do not seek public attention, and said such achievers should be encouraged and nominated for national recognition.

APSCHE said online nominations and recommendations for the PMRBP-2026 were being invited through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal (awards.gov.in). Instituted by the Government of India, the award recognises the achievements of children below 18 years of age as on July 31, 2026, at the national and international levels.

The awards are presented in six categories: bravery, social service, environment, sports, art and culture, and science and technology. The online nomination process began on April 1, 2026, and the last date for submission is July 21, 2026.

APSCHE has appealed to universities, colleges, schools, State Education Boards and other institutions across Andhra Pradesh to spread information about the awards and identify deserving children whose achievements merit national recognition. The council said the initiative aims to ensure that talented children from all sections of society are recognised for their accomplishments and contributions.
