Candidates who qualified the 2017–18 Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Assistant Professor examination have alleged discrimination in the handling of recruitment-related court proceedings and have urged the State government to ensure justice for them.

Speaking to The Hindu on Tuesday (April 21, 2026), general secretary of the Assistant Professor APPSC Exam-Qualified Candidates’ Association K. Srinivasulu said during 2014–2019, the then government approved filling of 1,385 teaching posts across 14 State universities, including 1,109 Assistant Professors, 185 Associate Professors and 91 Professors, based on recommendations of a high-power committee led by Prof C.V. Raghavulu.
