Applications invited for journalist awards in A.P.

The Andhra Pradesh government has invited applications for the 2025 Best Journalist Awards to recognise excellence and contributions to journalism. The awards cover 12 categories, with cash prizes ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh.

Information and Public Relations Director K.S. Viswanathan, in a press release on Saturday, said eligible journalists should submit applications by 5 p.m. on September 28 to the Director, Information and Public Relations Department, second floor, NTR Administrative Building, Pandit Nehru Bus Station, Vijayawada-520013.

The Kasinadhuni Nageswara Rao Pantulu Best Journalist Award carries a cash award of ₹2 lakh. It is open to full-time journalists with at least 10 years of experience, working for Telugu or English newspapers or periodicals published from Andhra Pradesh.

Three Best Rural Journalist Awards, named after Khasa Subbarao, Mutnuri Krishna Rao and Madduri Chandrasekhar Rao, carry a cash award of ₹1 lakh each. The Savitribai Phule Best Woman Journalist, Best Cartoonist, Abul Kalam Azad Best Urdu Journalist, Best Electronic Media Journalist and Best Video Journalist carry a cash award of ₹1 lakh each.

The V.R. Narla Lifetime Achievement, Kokku Ahobalarao Best Photo Journalist and Madduri Annapurnayya awards will be selected by the committee without applications.

Applicants must submit details and at least five works published or broadcast in 2025. Committee decisions will be final.
