The Sri Sathya Sai district administration has opened the process for granting licenses to sell firecrackers during the upcoming Diwali festival. District Collector A. Shyam Prasad announced on Sunday (September 21) that applications must be submitted online through the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) portal www.peso.gov.in using Form AE-5.

Applicants are required to upload proof of residence, five passport-size photographs, and pay a fee of ₹500 via cfms.ap.gov.in. Completed applications in three sets must be submitted at the Collectorate’s Magisterial Section between 10.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on working days, before September 30.

The Collector clarified that only applications cleared by revenue and police officials, and supported with GST, fire challan, and NOC, will be considered. He further stressed that, in compliance with National Green Tribunal guidelines, licensed vendors will be permitted to sell only eco-friendly “green crackers.” Past licenses will not be valid this year.
