A coastal cleanup drive was organised by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) at Mypadu Beach in Nellore on Saturday (September 27). APPCB Regional Officer Asok Kumar announced that the programme is one of the initiatives under the National Coastal Mission (NCM) scheme.

This Central government scheme aims to conserve and manage the coastal environment, protect biodiversity, and reduce climate risks through initiatives like mangrove and coral reef conservation, sustainable beach development, marine ecosystem research, and public awareness programmes.

Nellore RDO Naga Santosh Anusha was the chief guest on the occasion. The event saw active participation from the SEIL Energy India Limited team, led by its Safety head Gnanadesigan alongside other local industries and their teams.
