The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (APJAC) Amaravati has planned to convene an emergency meeting of its State Secretariat and Agitation Action Committee on August 16 to decide its next course of action on the pending demands of government employees.
The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at Revenue Bhavan in Vijayawada, APJAC Amaravati leaders Bopparaju and Palishetti said in a statement on Thursday.

The JAC, in a release on Thursday, said the meeting comes against the backdrop of the government’s failure to announce decisions on the issues raised by employee organisations, including the appointment of a Pay Revision Commission (PRC) chairman, announcement of interim relief, release of pending dearness allowances (DA), payment of arrears and restoration of the additional quantum of pension.
Other demands include resolution of the problems faced by employees of village and ward secretariats and contract and outsourcing employees.
The APJAC Amaravati said the demands were among 29 issues discussed at the Joint Staff Council meeting held with all employee associations on July 22, in the presence of the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
At a meeting on August 2, the APJAC leadership had said that if the government failed to clarify its stand on the demands by August 15, the State Secretariat and Agitation Action Committee would meet at short notice to decide on the next phase of the agitation.
As no decisions have been announced by the government so far, the emergency meeting is being convened, the leaders said.
Members of the APJAC Amaravati State Secretariat, Women’s Wing State Secretariat, Agitation Committee, four zonal in-charges, Women’s Wing in-charges and agitation committee in-charges from all 13 districts are expected to attend, according to the press release.
