Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz has urged the Waqf institutions and Muthavallis who have not yet registered their property details to respond immediately, as the deadline for data registration on the UMEED (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development) portal is set to end on June 6, 2026.

The UMEED portal is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to digitise, verify, and monitor Waqf properties across India. The State Waqf Board chief expressed his anger that a few Muthavallis and administrators were still acting negligently, while the details of thousands of Waqf institutions in the State had already been registered on the portal.

He said the UMEED portal was crucial for the protection of the Waqf properties, future legal battles, prevention of encroachments and creation of digital records. The extension of the deadline was not possible, he said.

Stating that it was imperative to first register the Waqf assets in the government’s digital records to protect them, Mr. Abdul Aziz called on every Muthavalli to take the issue as a personal responsibility.
