Counter-UAS and air-defence technology firm Indrajaal Drone Defence unveiled an anti-drone patrol vehicle (ADPV) on Wednesday.

Unlike traditional vehicle-mounted systems that move from one point-defence location to another, the ADPV can combat threats while in motion — detecting, tracking and neutralising drones across borders, cities and critical corridors. It is a mobile, Artificial Intelligence-enabled counter-drone system with multiple features, including autonomous threat assessment through AI, instant interception and neutralisation of the target, the firm said, describing the ADPV as the first such in the country.

In a release, Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey (retired), General Officer of the Indian Army and former Commandant of the Army War College, Mhow, said technologies like the ADPV are not just machines but protective shields.

Founder and CEO of the Hyderabad-based firm Kiran Raju said Indrajaal Ranger delivers a transformative layer of national security, disrupting cross-border criminal operations and safeguarding vulnerable populations. By intercepting hostile drones, it prevents narcotics from entering, block the inflow of illicit weapons and protects farmers living along sensitive border zones. Its automated interception framework reduces the operational load on police and BSF units, enabling smarter, data-driven deployment of manpower.
