The Government of Andhra Pradesh has constituted a high-level advisory committee to promote green hydrogen and its derivatives under the ‘Green Hydrogen Valley – Amaravati’ initiative.
The move follows the Green Hydrogen Summit organised at SRM University in Amaravati in July 2025, where the State had unveiled its vision to emerge as India’s largest green hydrogen hub by 2030.
As per G.O. Ms. No. 82 issued by the Energy Department on Wednesday, the committee would guide technology adoption, research, and infrastructure development for green hydrogen production, storage, and applications.
Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog, would be the Chairman of the committee. While Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand would serve as its Co-Chairman, NREDCAP Managing Director Dr. M. Kamalakar Babu would be its Member-Convener.
The committee would also include senior government officials, scientists, and industry leaders from institutions such as CSIR-NCL, Pune, the Ministry of Railways, Fraunhofer Institute (Germany), SRM University, Greenko, and ReNew Power.
Annual progress reviews and summits would be conducted at SRM University to monitor the advancements.
Officials said the initiative aims to drive clean energy innovation, create green jobs, and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s role in India’s transition to a sustainable hydrogen economy.
