BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav said on Thursday the State government faced Cyclone Montha effectively and mitigated the suffering of the people by taking effective measures.

Speaking to the media in Anantapur, Mr. Madhav said the crop loss due to the cyclone was immense and the NDA government was enumerating the losses for providing the much needed relief to the farmers. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also enquired about the losses, and that the Centre would support the State in all possible ways. Mr. Madhav said fishermen would be provided assistance through PM Matsya Sampada scheme for the losses incurred by them.
