To have a better understanding of the lives of food/grocery delivery workers and the nature of their jobs and its challenges, Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad stepped into their shoes for a day and went around Penamaluru delivering essentials to people on Tuesday.

In a video circulating on social media platforms, the MLA, wearing a helmet and a Swiggy Instamart shirt, can be seen driving around on his motorcycle with a bag and asking for the delivery code at doorsteps, surprising people. He can also be seen interacting with delivery agents.

When asked about what difficulties he identified during his interaction with them, Mr. Prasad said: “Every profession has challenges. But here, the main problem is that they do not have access to basic facilities, including drinking water and restrooms.”

He was told by a worker about how they have no place to rest during summers. The MLA, who made five deliveries in three-and-a-half hours, said he wanted to experience their hardships firsthand and highlight the same. “We support their demands for medical and accident-related claims,” the MLA said.
