PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Friday kick-started his campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu after offering prayers at the Thirupporur Kandasamy Murugan Temple near Chennai. According to him, 62,000 cases of crimes against children including 27,000 POCSO Act cases have been reported in Tamil Nadu. “It is shocking that an average of 35 such crimes occur per day, and, as a father of three daughters, I urge people to remove this government thatfails to ensure the safety of women.”He alleged that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was focusing only on “advertisements” without being aware of what is happening in the State, and alleged that the Ministers around him were focused solely on looting. Dr. Anbumani alleged that the Scheduled Castes were not being given due recognition. “With the passing of M. Karunanidhi, social justice has ended within the DMK,” he said, and claimed that he had secured reservation for SCs at the national level.
