The internal turmoil within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) continued to be played out in the open on Sunday with actor Neena Kurup, an executive committee member of the forum, confirming that she had filed a complaint against fellow actor Tiny Tom. The details of the complaint against Mr. Tom surfaced a day after actor Ansiba Hassan accused him of character assassination and making communal remarks.

According to Ms. Kurup, she had filed a complaint against Mr. Tom to the AMMA leadership on May 12. She has accused him of “repeated verbal abuse and attempted physical assault.”

“I have filed a complaint based on an incident that took place on February 13, a day before a family meet organised by the AMMA. I strongly believe the association will take up the complaint and justice will be served. At least the matter will be looked into,” she said.

Mr. Tom has not responded to the allegations yet. On Saturday, he had refuted Ms. Hassan’s allegations that he accused her of attempting religious conversion and spread rumours about her personal life.

Responding to a series of issues concerning AMMA, including the latest allegations, its president Shwetha Menon has reportedly said that the general body slated for next month will discuss all the matters.
