Shares of two out of three companies made a weak debut on bourses on Thursday, April 2, 2026, amid a weak broader trend as equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined 2 per cent in early trade amid rising geopolitical tensions. Shares of power solutions provider Powerica Ltd listed at a discount of over 7 per cent from the issue price of Rs 395. The stock was listed at Rs 366, slipping 7.34 per cent from the issue price on the NSE. On the BSE, it debuted at Rs 375, registering a 5.06 per cent decline from the issue price. The company’s market valuation stood at Rs 4,684.95 crore on the NSE.
This was the company’s second attempt to go public. Back in 2019, Powerica had filed draft papers with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to float an IPO. However, the plan was shelved.
Powerica is an integrated power solutions provider specialising in diesel generator sets (DG sets), medium speed large generators (MSLG), and related services.
Amir Chand’s shares plunge 8%
Shares of basmati rice exporter Amir Chand Jagdish Kumar (Exports) on Thursday listed with a discount of 8 per cent against the issue price of Rs 212. The stock began trading at Rs 195, a decline of 8.02 per cent on the BSE. Later, it extended losses by plunging 10.59 per cent to Rs 189.55. On the NSE, it started trading at Rs 200, a drop of 5.66 per cent. The scrip of the company later plunged 12 per cent to trade at Rs 186.76 on the exchange.
The company’s market valuation stood at Rs 1,933.83 crore on the BSE, while it stood at Rs 1,906.49 crore on the NSE.
Sai Parenteral’s stock lists at over 3% premium
Despite weaker broader trends, shares of Sai Parenteral, a diversified pharmaceutical formulation company, listed with a premium of over 3 per cent against the issue price of Rs 392. The stock made its market debut at Rs 405, up 3.32 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. On the NSE, the stock started trading at Rs 400, up 2.04 per cent. The company’s market valuation stood at Rs 1,784.84 crore on the NSE.
