Ambulance Pilot Day celebrated in Vellore

The Vellore division of the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI Green Health Services) celebrated Ambulance Pilot (drivers) Day at Government Pentland Hospital in Vellore on Thursday.

According to a press release, 68 ambulances are operated by 162 pilots and 157 technicians, forming the backbone of emergency medical response. The fleet also includes seven hearse vans, four mother-and-child welfare vehicles, and two-wheelers extending critical support beyond accidents and trauma.

The District Health Officer, M. Vijaya Chandran, who was the chief guest, gave away the award for the best pilot of the year to Naveen. Appreciation certificates were also given to other pilots and technicians for their services in the district. On the occasion, S. Kannan, district manager, EMRI (Vellore), Dinesh Kumar, Shyam Sundar and Shanmugam, organisers, EMRI (Vellore), were present, the release said.
