The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has made adequate arrangements to conduct the practical examinations from February 2 (Monday) to February 21 (Saturday).

In all, over 5.26 lakh students from MPC (2,74,007), BPC (1,33,415) and Vocational streams (1,18,770) will take the exams. The schedule will be conducted in two sessions daily from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. BIE Secretary Krishna Aditya informed addressing the media here on Saturday.

The Board has already released the online portal login for principals and students to obtain hall tickets.

The exams will be conducted in two spells — the first one with 953 centres and 1,197 centres in spell two — a total of 1,440 centres. For the vocational stream, the two spells have 484 centres. The candidates are allotted to the centres on randomisation.

Of the total 7,559 examiners for the practical schedule, over 65% or 3,957 examiners are drawn from the private sector. Their appointment orders and payments will all be processed online, and none of the teachers/examiners in the exam duty will be allotted for additional duties such as the municipal polls.

The entire examination schedule is aimed at testing the candidates’ absorption of skills and understanding of subjects. The Board has made elaborate human resource and CCTV arrangements in the practical laboratories and the exam premises, which can be monitored live by nearly 70 designated personnel at the command control centre setup at the headquarters here, to ensure fairness and transparency in the examination proceedings.

Candidates appearing for the practical examinations, for queries, can approach the Board’s toll-free number 9240205555.
