All the government schools in Nellore city will be upgraded under the People-Public-Private-Partnership (P4) initiative in the coming days, similar to the recently renovated 150-year-old V.R. High School, through the P4 programme, said Dr. Ponguru Narayana, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD).

The Minister inaugurated a dining hall at VR High School, constructed by NCC company on a par with corporate schools, on Tuesday (March 31, 2026). He served the students and shared a meal with them after the inauguration. He expressed satisfaction over the quality of the midday meal and the implementation of the menu.

Later, Mr. Narayana spoke to the media and said that the first floor has been completed with a capacity of 400 people and that a dining hall is being set up on another floor so that 800 people can eat at a time. This hall has been built under the supervision of his daughter Sharani, who has taken special care of this school. He said that the students and their parents are happy with their efforts.

He further said, “Poverty eradication is possible only through education. In line with the vision of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, the educational standards in government schools are being improved across the State”.
