The Alappuzha South police have arrested a woman who attempted to murder her daughter-in-law by slitting her throat.

The arrested woman has been identified as Mini of Kuthirappanthi in Alappuzha. The incident occurred at 7 p.m. on October 1.

Since the victim was not legally married to Mini’s son, Mini called her to her house at Kuthirappanthi. The two got into in an argument, during which Mini attempted to kill her with a knife. Mini also sustained minor injuries in the scuffle.

Later, Mini informed her husband and son, who arrived at the house and took the victim to General Hospital, Alappuzha, where she was admitted.

The hospital authorities then informed the Alappuzha South police. Mini was later taken into custody from her house.
