The makers of Mahakali, RKD Studios and Prasanth Varma, have unveiled the first glimpse of the upcoming film. Titled Shukracharya’s WarCry, the 2-minute-55-second video sets up a conflict involving the forces of Dharma and Adharma. At the centre of the glimpse is Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras, played by Akshaye Khanna. The actor appears in a striking new avatar, with an intense look and a commanding presence that hints at the scale of his character.
The glimpse reveals little about the plot but suggests that Shukracharya will play a significant role in the larger battle. Its closing moments point towards a conflict that could have consequences far beyond the characters at its centre.
Sriya Reddy features in the glimpse
The video also introduces audiences to the visual world of Mahakali, with elaborate sets, large-scale battle imagery and extensive visual effects. Sriya Reddy makes an appearance in the glimpse, adding another layer to the film’s mysterious narrative. Bhoomi Shetty and Rohit Saraf are also part of the cast, alongside Akshaye Khanna and Sriya Reddy.

The film appears to be building towards a larger conflict rooted in the battle between Dharma and Adharma, although details about its storyline are being kept under wraps.
Mahakali and Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe
Mahakali is the next instalment in Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe, which began with Hanu-Man. The filmmaker has previously explored Indian mythology and Itihasa through a contemporary cinematic framework. Mahakali is directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru. It is presented by RK Duggal and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the RKD Studios banner, with Prasanth Varma associated with the project.
The film is expected to expand the cinematic universe with a story rooted in Indian mythology while taking the scale of its visual world further.
