Farah Khan recently opened the doors to actor Akanksha Chamola’s family home in Mumbai, giving viewers a look at the comfortable space where she is currently living with her parents. During the home tour, Akanksha also spoke about what life has been like since her stint on the reality show Lock Upp.
The house has a warm, lived-in feel, with plenty of plants, wooden details and natural light. Akanksha showed Farah around the living room, balcony, kitchen and other parts of the home, and even prepared a traditional Uttarakhand dish, chaisu bhaat, in her mother’s kitchen.
Inside Akanksha Chamola’s Mumbai home
Farah described the house as a sweet and comfortable space and asked Akanksha whether it was the home where she had grown up. Akanksha explained that she had not spent her childhood there.
She is currently living with her parents but hopes to move into a new home of her own soon. During the tour, she also took Farah into her mother’s kitchen, where she prepared chaisu bhaat, a traditional Uttarakhand dish.
The living room has a beige sofa, a wooden centre table and wood-panelled walls, with several indoor plants bringing some greenery into the space. A large window lets in plenty of natural light and opens onto the balcony.
The balcony has been decorated with numerous plants by Akanksha and her parents, adding to the home’s relaxed feel. From the living room, the rest of the house can be accessed, including the dining area, mandir, kitchen and bedrooms.
Akanksha Chamola opens up about life after Lock Upp
Akanksha also spoke candidly about what happened after she came out of Lock Upp. She said the transition back to normal life was far from easy and that it took her some time to recover from the experience.
“Life after Lock Upp is very hectic,” she said, explaining that she initially struggled with the aftermath and described the feeling as something similar to withdrawal. She recalled the Lock Upp song continuing to play in her head at night and said she found it difficult to sleep.
Akanksha also remembered mentally replaying scenes from the show, including seeing herself lying on the bench in the yard and recalling the other contestants moving around. She said she could not sleep for two nights even after returning home and would leave the house and roam around because she was unable to settle.
Her mother was also unable to sleep during that period, Akanksha recalled, adding that the adjustment after the show affected both of them.
Akanksha was eliminated from Lock Upp Season 2 just a day before the grand finale. Content creator Shreya Kalra eventually won the Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh-hosted reality show.
