AIMSS women’s meet begins on Friday

The sixth State women’s conference of the All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan (AIMSS) will begin in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.

Nivedita Menon, retired professor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, will inaugurate a public meeting at Gandhi Park at 4 p.m. AIMSS State president S. Soubhagyakumari will preside. AIMSS national vice-president Shyla K. John will deliver the keynote address. AIMSS national president Keya Dey will inaugurate the delgates’ conference at the Public Library Hall at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday.

Three seminars will be held on Saturday. The topics range from exploitation at the workplace; women safety and power structures; and science for women empowerment. The conference will conclude on Sunday.
