Hours after Dusi K. Mohan, a former legislator, was on Sunday (March 29, 2026) named the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s (TVK) candidate for Cheyyar for the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the AIADMK leadership expelled him from the primary membership of the party.
A communication from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said Mr. Mohan’s actions violated party discipline and brought disrepute to the organisation.

Mr. Palaniswami announced the appointment of former Minister Mukkur N. Subramanian as the AIADMK’s Tiruvannamalai North district unit secretary, a post which was until now held by Mr. Mohan.
