AI training programme for government officials to be launched

The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M), in association with Google and Digital Futures Lab, an independent, interdisciplinary research studio, will be launching a capacity building programme for officials on building, procuring, and scaling responsible artificial intelligence (AI) systems. This was announced during a conclave on Strengthening Human Capital in AI Era held at IIT-M on Friday, a press release said. The programme will enable officials to understand foundational AI technologies and their applications and evaluate AI solutions for procurement and scale, and implement responsible AI practices aligned with India’s policy framework. Identifying risks, limitations, and governance requirements in real-world deployments would also be focused on, the release added.
