Actor R. Parthiban (67) has moved the Madras High Court seeking a direction to the Sholinganallur Tahsildar in Chennai to consider, within a fixed time frame, an application made by him on March 20, 2026, for issuance of a ‘no caste, no religion’ certificate in his name.

His writ petition has been listed for hearing before Justice M. Dhandapani on Monday (April 20, 2026). The case has been filed after a controversy erupted last month over his introduction of himself as a ‘Naidu boy’ during the promotion of the Telugu film Ustaad Bhagath Singh.
