District Collectors were on Monday directed to achieve 90% progress in mapping of electors by end of the month as Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will be announced shortly by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Telangana, C Sudharshan Reddy directed Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), AEROs, Booth Level Officers (BLO) to visit slums and gated communities for mapping, by involving representatives of slums, gated communities and residential associations. At a video conference held with all Collectors, who are District Election Officers (DEO), and EROs on SIR on Monday, the CEO issued directions to involve ration shop dealers, self-help groups and employee unions to accelerate mapping in their constituencies.

The CEO asked to concentrate on electors who are dead, migrants and permanently shifted and take appropriate action to correct the details as per standard operating procedure (SOP). Wrong mappings should be rectified immediately. VVIP and VIP voters mapping too should be taken up.

Mr. Reddy cautioned BLOs against sharing any form of information or OTPs with unauthorised persons. Assistance of Booth Level Agents should be taken only in identifying houses or voters.

Further, the DEOs, EROs and supervisor level officers were directed to set up help desks to asist voters in getting mapped.

Additional CEO Vasam Venkateshwar Reddy, nodal officers and others were present on the occasion.
