Two police officers posted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Police Outpost were arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh, part of a ₹5 lakh demand, in exchange for extending official favours in a criminal case.

According to the ACB, Inspector Sampathi Kanakaiah and Sub-Inspector U.K. Siddeshwar were trapped on April 7 by the Rangareddy Range unit when they accepted the bribe from a complainant. The officers had demanded the amount to file a charge sheet and to refrain from implicating and arresting the complainant’s family members in a case registered at the RGIA police station in Shamshabad.
