The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posted at Police Computer Services (PCS), Hyderabad, alleging that he amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices during his service.

The arrest came after ACB officials carried out simultaneous searches at the officer’s residence and 15 other premises linked to his relatives, friends, benamidars and associates.

During the searches, officials recovered documents related to a wide range of immovable properties spread across Telangana and Karnataka. These include a villa at Vessella Meadows in Ibrahimbagh, a G+2 residential house with a penthouse and a flat in Telecom Nagar, another flat in Gachibowli, two residential flats in Tellapur, multiple open plots in Nagole, Patancheru and Pragathi Resorts, commercial properties in Manikonda, agricultural land in Sangareddy, Vikarabad and Karnataka, and an investment of ₹75 lakh in a rock sand mining company.

According to the ACB, the searches also led to the recovery of cash amounting to approximately ₹3.6 lakh from the officer’s residence and another ₹40 lakh from the residence of his alleged benamidar. Officials also seized around two kgs of gold ornaments, about 20 kgs of silver articles and bank balances totalling nearly ₹19.91 lakh.

The ACB said the market value of the immovable properties is likely to be substantially higher than their documented value.

During the search of the officer’s residence, officials also found 23 foreign liquor bottles. The matter has been referred to the Excise Department for further action.

The ACB said verification of additional assets is continuing and further investigation into the case is underway.
