Aavin will plough back 90% of the proceeds from the sale of sweets this festive season to invest in the welfare of dairy farmers, official sources said. “We have not increased milk prices, despite the procurement prices having gone up. We are balancing the welfare of the farmers’ cooperatives and our loyal consumers with quality goods at affordable prices,” a source said.

People have been supporting Aavin for its quality. Many corporates have booked sweets and savouries in bulk for supply in the run up to Deepavali, the source added.

All of Aavin’s major outlets in the city and elsewhere are already stocking 250 gram packets of ghee badhusha (₹205), nuts halwa (₹200), kaju pista roll (₹340) and kaju katli (₹280). The sweets come in assorted packets too – 250 grams and 500 grams priced at ₹240 and ₹475 each. They also have savouries – 200 gram packets of butter murukku priced at ₹95 each and similar sized packets of special mixture priced at ₹110 each.

Like in the previous years, Aavin is producing sweets using its own ghee, butter, and khoa at its Ambattur dairy. “We are following FSSAI norms and are ensuring that sugar is added in the right proportions. Single use oil is used to fry the eatables. We do not use hydrogenated vegetable oil. Quality check is being done at all stages,” another source said.
